Iran it would seem is coming to the global party. "The global economic party" as my good man Thomas PM Barnett would call it. I'm not going to wax poetic about globalism right now... but if you're interested pick up one of Tom's books.

What we are witnessing right now is the best possible thing that could happen for US interests in the middle east. The people of Iran are taking their country back from a brutal religious dictatorship BY THEMSELVES! This is an uprising that is partly being fueled by popular technology. Because of modern commuincations, the ability of oppressive regimes to maintain the virtual blindfold they've had in the past over people's eyes is deteriorating. A country that's leadership for years has espoused anti-semetic and anti-American views is reforming itself! NO US MILITARY PRESENCE NECESSARY! that's right folks...  we don't have to play world police on this one. We can just sit back and let these fine intelligent folks steer their country the direction that they would like to see it go! ...  which brings me to my point.

Lindsey Graham, John Boehner, John McCain, other loud mouthed opportunists of either party etc.... there's a reason people who think like you lost the last election and while you should be respected for your service to your country, you and your buddies need to clamp it the fuck shut on this one. This whole right wing idea that we need to use our military to intervine in every situation like this is one of the many factors that has lead the country into near ruin over the past 20 years. So please, keep your mouths shut. We tried it your way and the majority of the people have already spoken with their votes on doing it your way again.
