American's for Prosperity's Tim Phillips vs. Rachel Maddow

I keep seeing these ads on the site that say "Hands Off My Healthcare" and those ads are sponsored by a group called "American's for Prosperity" - They were the people who clapped when America didn't get the Olympics...  because I guess somehow not having the ability to host an event that produces hundreds of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars worth of tourism revenue for our economy is "prosperity" in their warped little minds. Just to prove a point, here's a rough breakdown of how much money Utah made when they hosted the Olympics back in 2002...  Mormon Republican Mitt Romney even cited some of these figures during his campaign for president.

Actually to tell the truth I know exacly why these people cheered. It's because "American's For Prosperity" does represent the prosperity of a select few very large corporate interests and a guy like Barack Obama is bad news for them. They're hoping to god he's a failure so people don't try to elect more officials with his set of values...  He ran on ending a lot of the "unregulated" a$$ raping they've become accustomed to over the past 20 years. Call me a "conspiracy nut" if that's what you need to do to marginalize this sad fact but I don't take pleasure in any of that being true... even though it is. So go ahead, call me a conspiracy theorist and then go march at one of these people's fake grassroots "Tea Party" protests with a sign about Barack Obama's birth certificate.

It's very clear to anyone with a functioning brain that "American's for Prosperity" is a Republican political tool masquerading as "grass roots." A new term has even been coined because of fake grassroots organizations with corporate funding that have popped up all over the place - "Astroturfing."

Rachel Maddow has been one of the few people in the media who doesn't serve these people by the masks she wears. In this clip she astutely points that out this Tim Phillips is a Republican operative and so are the other people in his organization. He of course tries to talk his way around it and then the guy really squirms and starts calling it an "attack on him"...  pointing out the fact that you have a long history of lobbying for wealthy entrenched interests (like HMO's) in Washington is hardly an attack...  by that logic saying "Tim Phillips is a human being" is an attack...  unless he is a reptile. In which case that would be a compliment.
